Frustrated with having to constantly reset his targets when target shooting, Eldon took the Bright Sparks approach and after matching-up a bit of technology with a fantastic idea Robot Revenge was born!

I enjoy shooting my Airsoft pistol at targets, but I get frustrated when I have to reset a target after each successful shot, and I also have to keep track of the hits myself. You can get electronic BB targets in other countries, but they’re expensive to order and don’t have all the features that I thought would be cool.

I thought it would be great to have my own target that records my hits, and I could hear from 20 metres away. A small digital display would be too hard to see from that distance, so I thought about adding speakers to register my hits, but then someone suggested headphones. After a bit of research, I decided that a wireless headphone was the best option. But I still wanted to include speakers for spectators.

The best part about developing Robot Revenge is that it gave me a good excuse to tear apart lots of toys and gadgets!

I’ve been a Bright Sparks member since 2007. I like all the help and support I get with my electronics projects from the Bright Sparks team and I enjoy entering the competition. I love electronics, animation, Airsoft BB guns, sports, animals, and playing guitar. In the future I plan on studying electrical engineering at Auckland University.

Sweet project Eldon. I like the option of the wireless headphones. You should get a splitter for the 3.5 jack and then you can use the headphones and the speakers simultaneously. Anyway a great job all the way around! Hello to your Mom and Dad for me.
