For his Bright Sparks project this year Sean was inspired to invent something that would alert him if annoying intruders had sneaked into his bedroom to fiddle with his stuff!

Once I'd come up with an idea I really enjoyed the inventing process and the challenge of trying to get one input on the microcontroller to activate two outputs.  Putting it all together and seeing it work for the first time was a real buzz!

I like computers and inventing, and I play cricket, the guitar and drums for a brass band.  When I go to university I want to study technology, physics and/or electronics. I'm also interested in computers and one day I would like to be a research engineer or scientist in electronics.

I've have been a member of Bright Sparks since the start of the year and I really like the Bright Sparks website because it gives you project ideas and hints and tips.  I've also been inspired by Michael Faraday, who was a physisist and studied electricity, and I've learnt a lot about him and his work.

In my opinion computers [and the Internet] have changed our lives more than any other invention, and in such a short time. I'm sure most people couldn't imagine being without them now!
